Hawk at Sunset

I snapped this picture out of my front yard (neighbor's house) one evening just before dark. The hawk had been living here for weeks and has since disappeared. I don't know where it came from or went to, but it gave us considerable pleasure while it was here. We think that it must have been domesticated and escaped, since it didn't seem to have any fear of being around people.

Stella Artois Patterson

Stella is the queen at the Patterson household. Rex says that she gets more attention than he does.

Pansies and Barrel

Most of this painting has been complete for about six months. I only finished it up today, although, I don't think it's any worse for waiting.

Baby and Little Buddy Boy

These are two of my seven grandchildren. I can't say that I'm ready to start taking commissions yet, but I think that I'm making progress.

OK, OK, it's not perfect, but it's only my 5th painting (2nd portrait). What can I say? I'm not all that good-looking, anyway. Cindy was easy, but I painted my face over and over, and finally decided to stop before I had to throw out the whole thing.

This is my first portrait. (Lukey doesn't count.)

I snapped this picture at a Christmas party given by Katie, one of my friends. The woman, Alice, is her mother-in-law and the baby is her grand-daughter. I gave the finished painting to Katie a few months later and she loved it. Unfortunately for her, when Alice saw it, she grabbed it and took it home with her, where she keeps it on her server as she informed me at another date. I took that as a compliment. Probably not going to get paid anything though. Bummer!

Oh, well! Back to the drawing board, or easel, as the case may be. The only problem with that is that I don't have an easel.

Number Three

This is Lukey, my black Lab. I painted the floor numerous times, six or seven at least, until I finally called it quits. My wife has this hanging on our living room wall and won't hear anything about selling it, even if I could. Bummer! The photo doesn't do it justice. My camera talents are about as advanced as my painting ones.
